Join us for more programming!
We will host our next Programming Café on 7th of July at 11:00 (until 13:00) in Langeveld 1.14.
Topic: A Short Introduction to Text Mining with Python
Text datasets have become highly prevalent in modern research. Today, researchers have access to digitized archives, social media feeds, and large collections of academic literature. Analyzing these massive volumes of text manually is rarely feasible. Luckily, we can analyze these datasets efficiently with the appropriate computational tools.
In this session, hosted by the Future Library Lab, we will explore how to apply text mining with Python. You will learn why text mining matters for current research. We will also introduce the basic workflow for textual analysis. This includes importing text data, preprocessing and cleaning it, extracting insights, and visualizing your results.
The second part of the Café is designed to help you with your projects! Any questions in regard to how to use the learned knowledge for your own code? Struggling with a bug? Need some brainstorming with colleagues? We got your back!
